Principal's Message                                   ‚Äč

Welcome to another exciting year at John Paul II. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Rachelle Warman and I have worked as a teacher in the Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese for a combined seven years, all of which have been in Powell River. As well, I worked in the private sector as an International Language Program Director in partnership with School District 47 for five years. I worked as a Catholic teacher in Calgary, Alberta for six years, and finally as an English teacher in Tokyo, Japan. Recently, I received my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from St. Mark’s Catholic College in May 2017.

As the newly appointed Principal at John Paul II Catholic School, it is my pleasure and honor to join the school and parish communities in continuing the legacy of academic excellence and Christian based education that John Paul II has been known for in Port Alberni for the past 12 years. I am thrilled to be given this opportunity and look forward to working with all of you to provide a community where all its members are encouraged to become both earthly and heavenly citizens.

On a more personal level, I would like to share with you that my relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life and my family is a very close second. I am passionate about learning and am driven by curiosity. I am excited to embark on this wonderful journey together with all of you.

I feel very blessed and fortunate that my children are able to go to a school like John Paul II. I know they are getting the best education both academically and spiritually.

I like John Paul II because we make friends and we play together.

I like how this school is better than other schools because we have lots of sports and Spirit Days. John Paul II has the best teachers and there is no bullying.
